[LETI] EL TIÉTAR

The El Tiétar Aerodrome, also called La Iglesuela Aerodrome, is located in the municipality of La Iglesuela del Tiétar, in the province of Toledo, Spain.

The land on which the aerodrome is located is property of the Iglesuela del Tiétar City Council.

The airfield was used by Franco's aviation during the Spanish Civil War, and the ruins of at least 5 air raid shelters, 3 machine gun nests, magazines and several large hangars can still be found in the vicinity of the field. During that time it was known as "Campo Delta" or "Casavieja Aerodrome".

Starting in 1978, this airfield was transferred by the city council of La Iglesuela del Tiétar, for 30 years, to the company "Aeronáutica del Tietar", which carried out the necessary works for its reconstruction, carrying the light connection. , resurfacing the original runway, installing a fuel pump and building the first hangars, cafeteria, offices, etc. This company maintained a pilot school for several years.

Currently, the city council has transferred it to the private company Blue Sky Aviación, the concessionaire and operator of this private aerodrome, which has it destined for general aviation. This company has held different events and concentrations of small planes and even historical aircraft of the Infanta de Orleans Federation.

A helicopter patrol from the BRIF (Forest Fire Reinforcement Brigade) of the Ministry of the Environment, the Tiétar Aeroclub, as well as other recreational aviation and UAS (unmanned aircraft) operators are also based at this airfield.
