[LEMR] LA MORGAL

The La Morgal aerodrome is an airport facility located in the Asturian council of Llanera, in northern Spain.


It has an 890m landing strip and a heliport with 5 positions.


It is dedicated to sports and training aviation. It is the base of the helicopters of the SEPA (Emergency Service of the Principality of Asturias), the Asturias Fire Department and 112 Asturias.


In 1952 it became the first airport in Asturias, with national flights. In 1963 it was closed for commercial aviation due to the weather conditions in the area, with abundant fog.
